Awaken by dreams of a diamond in the rough,
makes a prospector mean and tough
So he saddles up his horse
and rides off into the sun
hoping today he'll get a better run
only to be let down at the end of the day.

But still they come
the dreams of a diamond in the rough
One that could set your soul free
But yet all he finds is fools gold

And still he saddles up again
Tricked into thinking that today is the day
So he searches high and low
For a promise he'll never truly know
As night falls, he sets up camp,
and slowly drifts asleep.

Dreaming once again of that diamond
But this time he finds the missing piece
Remembers the bible stories from his younger age
Realizes the diamonds been there all along
So he prays his pray
And gains a life more precious then any rock.
